Sydney Combs is an investigative, multimedia journalist with a background in anthropology. Her reporting focuses on government accountability and how systems of inequality are created and propagated. She is currently based in Washington, D.C. investigating government contractors.
In the past she has published with The Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, Global Citizen, The Sentinel-Echo, The Chicago Maroon, the University of Chicago’s Institute of Politics, PolicyLink, and the National Science Foundation. Her photography has been displayed at the National Press Club and her work in Tanzania placed as a National Finalist for the Society of Professional Journalists' Mark of Excellence Awards.
She is also a NeXt Doc fellow with Youth FX, a program supporting emerging documentary filmmakers at the Carey Institute for Global Good.
